Celebrating Audrey’s 80th

A delightful celebration of Audrey Pickering’s 80 years of life was celebrated at Mt Mee Hall on Saturday 21 January 2017. As guest of honour, she was on the receiving end of Mt Mee hospitality as she is often found helping in the Mt Mee Hall kitchen, assisting at monthly markets and community events. Audrey, with her husband, Don, and children, Christine, Roslyn, Colin and Annette, came to the mountain about 43 years ago. Forty of those years, she has been involved with the Hall Committee.Screen Shot 2017-02-07 at 11.15.02 am

Audrey celebrated with her extended family and close friends with a luncheon featuring fresh salads, cold cuts and a range of desserts to suit every palate! Pride of place was a beautifully iced cake topped with a teacup and saucer cascading a spray of icing flowers, all iced by her daughter, Christine. Many happy memories were relived and stories told. Audrey claims her last proper party was her 21st so her 80th was certainly a milestone to be honoured. On this very happy occasion we are sure Audrey enjoyed the friendship and love extended to her by her close friends and family circle. Over the years, Audrey also hand-made many beautiful rugs which their owners displayed at her birthday party to show her hobby as a labour of love. Some of these rugs are
